On Architecture
On Architecture
My understanding of architecture wanders around the idea of a discipline which essence is defined by the organization of the space, on a certain place and on a certain time, within a sensitive balance between the logics of systematization and the poetical realm. Meaning that in its substance, architecture is about to create and to articulate comfortable and well-functioning spaces, either through their configuration, their proportions, lightning, materiality, technical requirements and so forth.
Yet, along these premises, each project must simultaneously attend to its own particularities, such as its context, a certain budget, a specific social environment, an ecological standard or technological statement, a certain requirement from the client, among many other constraints. These factors might define some boundaries on the architectural absolute intentions and visions, but at the same time they provide the tones through which an architecture project becomes real and embodied of its very own meaning.
I consider it is through a harmonic and inventive syntax of all these aspects that architecture can be materialized into compelling and suitable projects.
